Description

The Platinum 8" Flat Finishing Box is designed to automatically apply and feather joint compound, delivering professional-grade results with minimal effort. Whether you're working on butt joints or flat joints, this box ensures a consistent, smooth finish in a single pass.

The adjustable crown setting dial lets you fine-tune the amount of compound applied, making it ideal for progressing through multiple finishing applications. The pivoting axle adjusts to uneven drywall surfaces, compensating for any height differences in the joint.

Works well. There's a little bit if a learning curve. Joint compound consistency is key.

hinge design renders box not cost effective

Posted by 10 year drywall contractor on 21st Feb 2022

after owning both an 8in and 10in flatbox for over a year i feel comfortable writing this review of these products. first off the hinge setup is complete garbage after a few jobs the doors start sticking not allowing you to open for cleaning or completely closing pushing the mud from the box in application. I tried replacing the nylon hinge and same problem occurred this is common with both boxes i own the time spent taking boxes apart to fix hinge renders these boxes undesirable and not cost effective to own for a full or part time drywall contractor if you are a handyman who does very little drywall then possibly this could work for you
